Sticktastic
Hello I am Wandii, welcome to my land of magic, fashion and sweets. Here you will find a lot of nonsense and doodles. A long with my devious little friend Stick Malik and all of his acquaintences.

Who’s that pokémon?

It’s pinkuwapinku

Look at his face though. There’s anger underneath that look of intense concentration, even the night before the Ceremonial Duel, when everything is supposed to be resolved forever. Ishizu sleeps easily that night, Rishid stares out the window contemplatively, and Malik broods at the ceiling. I wonder what he’s thinking about.

This screenshot always gets played off with the “hur hur Malik has a frilly pillow” or the “hur hur Malik’s wearing a tank top,” which is unfortunate, because like LB says, there’s a lot to that expression.  For someone who’s supposed to have turned cheerful good guy, there’s much that doesn’t fit with that image for Malik when he greets Yuugi-tachi in Egypt: he easily passes off the duty of explaining Yami’s fate as pharaoh to Ishizu, while he has regained position as clan-head.  He overall seems uninvested in the end of the Pharaoh’s story; his mind is someplace else.  He has an expression like this after having greeted Yuugi-tachi at the airport ala Namu.  He doesn’t much encourage the group’s enthusiastic tourism of Egypt.  While the Ishtars are mostly passed off as plot device in the ending, here we get some hints that Malik’s positive transformation may not be so simple.
While this expression could be interpreted any number of ways —self-hate re:Battle City finals, concern about the Ceremonial Duel, thinking about what to do with the tombkeepers, wanting to fight the Pharaoh himself, or yes, thinking about shippings— I can’t help but see this screenshot and still buy Malik as a reformed, cheerful good guy who is filled with hope, specifically, for life.

Ooh, let’s get conceptual here, y’all. Way to make a funny situation serious, the far left picture was ardentblue actually locking herself out of the briefcase, just imagine everyone laughing in the background but SHHHH IT’S AN ANGSTY MOMENT.
Kaiba is ardentblue, Malik is pinkuwapinku, Rod/Briefcase is a starcrossed-lover-object OTP, and lucky photog that got to capture all these Party Tomb moments is me.

Kiddie pool with glowsticks? Really? Your cool points just leapt.

loool out of all the things I listed, you choose that XD we had to fill it by filling giant trash bags with water, carrying it up three flights of stairs, and into the (WHALE SHAPED) kiddie pool on the roof. was it worth it? i guess. i think it was just to be able to say we did it…

That sounds like sooo much fun. It reminds me of the time my friend and I made a water slide off of her roof and dyed the water pink with kool aid. The only downside was getting my wig wet.

I’m sure amidst all these cute Prideshipping cosplay pictures, you must’ve been wondering what was going on in the background…

boylstonn:

it was this:

Disgusted!Bakura is amarantines, disgusted!Malik is pinkuwapinku, Yami Yuugi is takaburuzo, and Kaiba is Ardentblue.

When you showed this to me on skype the first time, I giggled so much and spilled my coffee all over my desk! It was worth having to redo all those doodles. <3 <3 <3

I had some great shoots this year at Anime Boston. However, this one definitely takes the cake. I present to you ardentblue (Seto Kaiba), pinkuwapinku (Malik Ishtar) and takaburuzo (Yami Yuugi) in their amazing Yu-Gi-Oh cosplays. It was an absolute blast shooting them and the rest of their group (amarantines as Bakura and rishidishtar as Rishid - more pics later), and judging by the plethora of crack pictures also taken, I daresay that they had as much fun too. This was such a privilege to do… I wish I could’ve shot more of them. What a great group of people, with such gorgeous costumes hnnnng. Go give them a round of applause.
