I want to know how it will end. I want to be sure of what it will cost. I want to strangle the stars for all they promised me. I want you to call me on your drug phone. I want to keep you alive so there is always the possibility of murder later. I want to be there when you learn the cost of desire. I want you to understand that my malevolence is just a way to win

Hi guys, bit of an announcement to any old pals or newcomers and whatnot
A day or two back I set up councilofthieves, a forum where we can all chat and get along
Despite the name it isn’t all Thiefshippers; it just started off with a bunch of us on Skype (Thiefshipper’s Council) who did and it snowballed into more and more people until it got too insane for some people. It went really fast, a lot of people’s voices weren’t heard or were misinterpreted and for people like me with bad anxiety, it got too overwhelming so more and more people dropped off. Not to mention time zones, oy…
Despite the intensity it really was fun to have a continuous discussion going on (and meet so many different people), so I thought I’d try and set something up again. Hence the forum. I realise forums are hard to commit to but I’d love it if we could get back into the spirit of things. And for people who weren’t a part of that group, I’d love to meet you too! I know I get nervous when I meet people, I find forums more approachable.
I just wanted to get the word out, so far we have a handful of members and I’d love to see that number grow.
Anyway this is the signature image I’m using lol hence the transparent BG

They both shiver, for different reasons.

Malik watches carefully and wonders how long it has actually been since they set out this morning, himself with a backpack and Bakura with the same pouch that he always carried, in a kind of tooled leather that he thinks says something that he can’t quite remember how to read. They cross through the edges of the forest from the road, the sounds of cars long gone behind them and melted into birds, rain, and crawling things.

Having spent the night under the trees, he can now say he knows what cold really is. Watching Bakura sleep gives him the strangest satisfaction, despite how uncomfortable the rest of it had been. Not that there is any trust there, but the outright suspicion isn’t, and that’s enough. That is more than enough, for people like them.

“The hell are we here for, anyway?” Malik mumbles, not taking his eyes away, even miles after they’ve left. And it’s an awkward question in the middle of another, completely silent conversation, but he can’t help it. Bakura hasn’t eaten for four days and Malik for two, out of habit and not for the ritual itself. He is tired.

“You’re staring,” Bakura replies without answering the question. Voice scratchy, eyeing Malik sideways, staring ahead himself into the horizon until just then. Malik snorts, as though he wasn’t, but reaches out and lays his thumb in the shadow of Bakura’s cheek, which is purple and a little swollen and still cold, but solid. Bakura says nothing after that, but straightens and juts out his chin, challenging Malik to deny it, or confirm it, or make some remark that he could get himself another punch in the face for.

You’d like that, wouldn’t you.

“I won’t apologize for that. You’re beautiful, you know.” Malik agrees.

And it’s almost too much for Bakura’s nerves. He fills with air, his cheek expanding with the laughter that explodes a moment later into Malik’s serious face, and then they’re both laughing without knowing exactly why it’s funny. Although it might be that they’ve never stared at anyone other than the Pharaoh for very long, and now that the whole world is different, they both remember that turning seventeen shouldn’t feel like the end of anything.

Bakura really has a delicious laugh, he decides. It’s the kind of laugh that makes the ground shake and sends shivers into your toes.

Bent forward, he looks up to see two pale hands shove him hard and back, a hiss running through the space between them from Bakura’s sneer, a half breath away from his laugh.

“Shut it, Ishtar,” he bit, shouldering his pack in one fluid motion of recoil, putting all the ridicule behind it that he could. Still smiling. As though it’s not true, as though Malik has forgotten that this isn’t his real body. Malik hasn’t forgotten. “You’re a psycho, you know.”

Malik stops. “Certifiably,” he agrees smoothly, after a heartbeat. “That usually doesn’t bother you.”

“You always bother me.”

“Then I’m going places.”

This made me smile.
